Vista and VB6 applications... back to the days of XP and themes... nooooahhhhh!

Well after a heavy weekend of Vista messing (including Server) I tried HotHTML 3 (yes, I know... what a nut aye?)... with FixPack 4 the first thing you get after installation is the "Configuration Wizard" to show up, and thats when i noticed that the checkbox had that horrible black bar covers like XP caused when you try and use a manifest without initialising Common Controls library first...

NOooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i yelled in disappointment. I've filed a bug but its still early days yet, MS *might* fix it otherwise we'd have to think of a work-around (after more research) to fixing it.

So in short, if your vb6 application uses a manifest/themes and it shows correctly in XP, chances are in Vista (atm) it wont.

HotHTML 3 at Wikipedia... oh and wiki's rock!

Someones posted a definition of "HotHTML" at WikiPedia... Check it out! and see the complete list. Kinda cool to be inside an internet encyclopedia, although the descriptions from a download site somewhere...!

In conclusion, Wiki's are cool!
